Moon Miner: December Progress

  • by

I’m continuing to build the Moon Miner arcade game, a game written entirely in CircuitPython for the Adafruit Fruit Jam. Here is a list of this month’s progress:

  • Game refactored to allow additional missions
  • added several animations, including crashes, tip over landings, and volcanos
  • Did I mention volcanos? Yes! Once I discovered there are several moons in our solar system with volcanic activity I had to add volcanos as a game element.
  • Added game pad controller support
  • Help screen with QR code to this site
  • Refactored terrain to a smaller resolution for tighter spaces
  • Best time now stored for each mission for repeatable playing

Along the way I discovered some new bugs, so I’ll be working on that, but most of the game elements are in place. Stay tuned for more info. In the meantime, here is a video on BlueSky of the volcano and crash animations.

More progress on my retro #arcade game, "Moon Miner", where you collect minerals from moons of our solar system. Added volcanos, animations, multiple missions, controller support and various improvements/fixes. Showing Neptune mission. Written in @circuitpython.org for the @adafruit.com #FruitJam.
